All of this beauty is just a short stroll from the cottage

Polperro is regarded by many, as one of the most picturesque and unspoilt fishing villages in Cornwall.

It is also in the top 10 of many "Most beautiful villages in England" surveys. Here is a link to one of them

There is so much on offer - whether it's a family holiday, or couples looking for a romantic getaway.

Polperro has a pretty little sandy beach. There are plenty of quality gift and art shops. Antiques shops. Bakeries, selling fabulous Cornish pasties. A model village. Heritage museum. A wide choice of good places to eat and drink - Cafes, restaurants and traditional Cornish pubs. The famous Blue Peter Inn ("the last pub before France!") is well worth a visit, for good food, atmosphere and live music.

You can choose to leave your car in the car park for your whole stay if you wish, as Polperro has lots to keep you and your children entertained. Also, there are some lovely places just a walk away along The South West Coast Path.

Polperro's small sandy beach is situated just outside the harbour walls. It is very sheltered, sitting just below the pretty cliffs by the harbour entrance. It is a tidal beach, so does disappear at high tide. Unfortunately, this beach does have a dog ban from Easter day - 1st October.

Under a 30 minute walk along the coastal path, mid way between Looe and Polperro, is Talland Bay. It is a very pretty place, with two principal beaches. There are small coves and beautiful natural pools to swim in. The beach to the West has sand at both high and low tide and is great for swimming. There are lots of rock pools for exploring too.
The second beach to the East is less sandy and easiest to swim from at high tide.
Both beaches at Talland Bay have fabulous cafes where you can relax and enjoy the spectacular views.
Both beaches are dog friendly all year round too.

Talland Bay beach cafe is the first one you come to from Polperro and it is wonderful! They serve great food and if the weather isn't very good, there are gorgeous little beach huts you can hide away in, with views over the beach.
A few minutes walk away, you will come to The Smugglers Rest, which is a cafe overlooking the second beach at Talland.

If you fancy a longer walk, you can continue on from Talland Bay to the busy working fishing port of Looe. Looe is around 4 1/2 miles from Polperro via the SW coast path and don't forget the lovely cafes to stop in half way!
If you don't fancy a long walk, then Looe is only a few minutes drive from Polperro.

From Polperro you can walk to Polruan via the SW Coastal Path (longer walk - 6 miles - but beautiful coastal scenery - return by bus or taxi). Also, if visiting Polruan, you must take the short ferry trip to Fowey - another stunning Cornish town with lots of shops and restaurants. Fowey is only just over a 30 minute drive from Polperro.

The Eden Project is just under 23 miles away.

The beautiful Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park is under 23 miles away.

There is so much to see and do in this part of Cornwall and this is just a handful of suggestions.
